Stimulating Simulations
Many years ago and a land far away ... some at a 1990 NYC SIGGRAPH user group meeting tore into Jim Gasperini, and an argument broke out ... to paraphrase, it was that interactive 'simulations would never be interesting enough to cause a heated disagreement between players'. Our posse jumped into the melee, in complete disagreement. VPL's BodyElectric had captivated our imaginations as we'd programmed with it. Years later, the global success of the SIMS, WoW and other MMOG; the newest being Second Life, have put that argument to bed. There is still much work to be done because. Destroying and blowing things, no matter how visceral the sound and graphics, cannot be the human end/game.

Starting Galactic Simulations Blog
My wife said the other day, "You should write a blog". Knowing my aversion to text, this was tough. I guess after 15 years of working in some capacity on the convergence of music, interactive multimedia and simulations it is time. I've named this blog to reflect my passion for space based mobile augmented reality simulations. These go far far beyond location based ideas. They will transform entertainment and education opportunities.
